Barbara is Professor of Classics at the College of New Rochelle in New York. An interest in feminist theory, feminist cultural studies, and feminist pedagogy provides a unifying foundation for her work in apparently diverse areas, ranging from classical antiquity to Renaissance England to the humanistic potential for computers. She has published two books, "Half Humankind: Contexts and Texts of the Controversy about Women in England, 1540-1640" and "Classics and Feminism: Gendering the Classics", and is currently Assessment Director of the VRoma Project, funded by an NEH Teaching and Technology grant.
