AIRPORT INFORMATION

By metro, the airport most convenient to College Park, MD is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), located right on the Blue/Yellow line. You can also fly into Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and take the Washington Flyer Taxi or Super Shuttle into College Park. By car, the airport most convenient to College Park, MD, is Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). More information is available at: www.BWIairport.com and (301) 261-1000.

BWI is located approximately 25 miles north of the University. Driving time is approximately 35 minutes. Ground transportation to the University is available by van or taxi. Super Shuttle provides van service for about $30.00. Call 1-800-Blue-Van (258-3826) or visit their web site at www.supershuttle.com at least 24 hours in advance of your flight to reserve space. Taxi service will cost approximately $60.00 from BWI, $35.00 from National, and $65.00 from Dulles.

For those seeking an inexpensive way to get to campus from area airports, Metro provides connections. General information is available at Metro’s website (www.wmata.com/riding/visitors/airports.cfm). This method would be appropriate for someone not carrying much luggage willing to walk and transfer between buses. From BWI Airport, Metrobus route B30 provides express service between BWI Airport and Metrorail's Greenbelt station. Full fare for a one-way trip is $2.10. A traveler would need to walk from the airport terminal to the Metrobus stop. Once at the Greenbelt Metrorail station, the traveler would need to choose to take a cab or the C2 Metrobus which stops near hotels on Route 1/Baltimore Boulevard, comes through the campus with a stop at the Student Union, and then passes the Inn & Conference Center. TRAIN INFORMATION

The most convenient station is New Carrollton (NCR), with regular Amtrak and MARC service. Taxi service is available at the New Carrollton station (please estimate $15-20 for fare), and the F6 Metro bus offers regular service to campus as well. HOTEL INFORMATION

Rooms have been blocked at the University’s campus hotel for the nights of November 8, 9, 10, and 11. Out-of-town participants should make reservations as early as possible. Once the rooms at the conference hotel are filled, participants will need to arrange for accommodations in or near College Park, Maryland.

The conference will provide shuttle service, running every half hour, between the conference hotel and the Stamp Student Union.

  • Find a Ride: rideguide.wmata.com Metro's website allows you to enter your departure address and your destination, and it will calculate for you the best metro/bus routes, along with fare information and walking directions. Enter "CAMPUS DRIVE & UNION DRIVE (in Prince George's County) as your final destination.

  • Parking: There are meters throughout campus but often little availability. There are a few paid-parking options for visitors on campus: Union Lane parking garage between Cole Field House and Stamp Student Union, Stadium Parking Garage at Byrd Stadium, and Regents Garage on Regents Drive between Field House Drive and Stadium Drive. The Center can provide you with a campus map to locate these facilities.

PARKING INFORMATION

For Thursday and Friday you will want to park at the Union Lane Garage. If the Union Lane Garage is full, you will need to proceed to the Stadium Lane Garage. Please refer to the driving directions to find these garages upon entering campus.

There is a football game on Saturday and you should park at the Mowatt Lane Parking Garage. Parking is also available at the Inn and Conference Center for reasonable rates.
