2. In THE MONKEY’S PAW, the story is fantastic and deals with the supernatural. Since we know that the story is not true in a literal sense, discuss what lessons can be learned from the character’s actions in this story.

3. When thinking about LORD OF THE FLIES, the young boys play a game: they act out very real scenarios in an adult game of survival and dominance. Discuss why you think the boys could not stay civilized and logical. Why and how did things fall apart?
