Renaissance Studies Citation
Your chance to become a renaissance man .
. . or woman
The Center, with the support of several departments
in the College of Arts & Humanities, offers undergraduate students
the opportunity to earn a Renaissance Studies citation through
the successful completion of five courses drawn from a large
group of courses focused on the Renaissance. The Center has begun
to consider how best to facilitate the process of completing
required courses for students pursuing the citation. Because
a number of departments have recently added to or modified the
courses they offer in subjects related to Renaissance studies,
the Center is updating and expanding the list
of courses from which students can select in order to complete
the citation. These revisions require the approval of the College's
Program, Curriculum and Courses Committee as well as the University
Senate. In the meantime, the Center will continue its efforts
to promote the citation by enlisting the help of undergraduate
advisors and arts and humanities faculty.
The revisions now underway, executed with the
assistance of Professor Jackson Barry (English), advisor to the
Renaissance Studies citation, will guarantee the continuing vitality
of the Renaissance Studies citation program in the future.
Requirements
To earn the Citation in Renaissance Studies,
a student must complete a total of 15 credits at the 300-level
or higher. Courses must be selected in consultation with the
citation advisor.
