Lesson Plan Guidelines

Time Period- Should be in number of class periods (based on 45 minutes per class period).

Standards- Should be numbered (according to MD Content Standards numbering system) and written out.

Objectives- Should be measurable and be worded "Students will . . .".

Vocabulary- Define obscure terms.

Resources- Use full MLA citation for books and web sites.
List name(s) of teacher and student resource sheets.

Lesson Abstract- Should be a narrative describing the lesson. Include references in MLA format.

Assessment- Detail an activity and provide rubrics.

Closure- Include an activity, not just a statement.

Lesson Extension- If a trip to the museum, list exhibit that pertains to the lesson. Be mindful that exhibits change. Use objects from the permanent collection.

Keywords- Searchable terms and concepts for online visitors.
